Corrections Policy
Our proposed approach to identifying, reviewing and correcting errors in YARLSRI NEWS reporting.
Our commitment to accuracy
YARLSRI NEWS aims to publish accurate, fair and clearly sourced information. This policy describes a proposed editorial process for handling mistakes. It must be approved and implemented before being presented as an operational guarantee.
How to report an error
If you believe an article, headline, caption, photograph or video contains an error, please use our Contact Us page. Include the article URL, the exact statement in question, an explanation of the possible error and any supporting evidence.
Reviewing reported errors
Our proposed workflow is to log incoming reports, review the original material and supporting sources, consult the responsible editor where appropriate, and determine whether a correction, clarification or other action is warranted.
Types of updates
Fix a material factual error and clearly explain what changed.
Improve wording that could mislead readers without necessarily being factually incorrect.
Add newly confirmed developments and distinguish them from earlier reporting.
Transparency and records
For substantive corrections, the proposed practice is to add a visible correction note with the date and a concise description of the change. Minor typographical fixes that do not alter meaning may not require a separate note. Significant disputes may require additional editorial review.
Languages, images and video
Potential errors in translations, subtitles, photographs, graphics and video should be assessed under the same accuracy principles. Corrections should be reflected in relevant language editions where those editions exist.
Requests for removal
Requests to remove or substantially alter published content should be reviewed case by case, considering accuracy, privacy, safety, legal requirements and the public interest. A request does not automatically guarantee removal.
